I am a lover of everything to do with health and wellness and the human body. In college I took a lot of nutrition courses, and anatomy and physiology and kinesiology. I get really geeky about the body. I have a background working in the physical rehabilitation world as well as for chiropractors throughout my career. For a few years in my early twenties I tried my hand in a few different careers including elementary education and even managing a seafood counter. Nothing like coming home smelling like fish and having your friends call you “The Shrimp Pimp” to give you the motivation to go back to school and get the degree you really want! I also used to help run my family business back in VT. It is sometimes funny for my friends here in Texas to think about me in a tractor and outdoor power company but it is where I got my start in the world of business. Growing up in a successful family business is the best kind of real life education you can get.
In 2005 I followed a woman to Texas and have been here ever since. I have twin 6 year olds now that are amazing and I am a very involved dad. Anyone who knows me is aware that I have a very big kid in me as well, so it is only natural to want to spend as much time with my kids as I possibly can. I never thought growing up that I would move to Texas but I have found myself here and I love it. Georgetown is an amazing community that I love to be a part of.
In the world of body work my passion is working with people on chronic pain, and posture. As I said before I get really geeky about the human body. I like to figure out whatever I can about a person from the “Nuts and Bolts” side of things. So much of the bodies aches and pains can be relieved with a good massage, proactive body work and appropriate rehabilitative stretching and exercises. It is to that end that I wanted to get my personal training certificate. I think that good body work should also include recommendations for stretching and corrective exercises that will help the client move away from whatever chronic pain or discomfort they might have.
I also have spent a number of years working in the spa world as well and give one heck of a relaxing massage. The human body needs more than just sophisticated bodywork, it also needs that to be done in an atmosphere that is calming and relaxing and by a massage therapist that can also deliver on the stress relief side of the equation too! I love to do both!
Hope you come and see me soon!
